Head Barista
Head Barista – The Elder Press Café 📍 Hammersmith, West London Full-Time | Competitive Salary
The Elder Press Café is a well-established, independent café located in the heart of Hammersmith. We take pride in serving high-quality specialty coffee, fresh seasonal food, and creating a welcoming space for our local community. We are now looking for an experienced and passionate Head Barista to lead our coffee team and help take our offering to the next level.
As Head Barista, you’ll be responsible for maintaining excellent coffee standards, supporting and developing the barista team, and working closely with management to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example in delivering consistently high-quality coffee and service
- Train, motivate, and manage a small team of baristas
- Oversee stock control and supplier ordering for the coffee bar
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency across all bar areas
- Assist with new menu development and seasonal drink ideas
- Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive work environment
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in specialty coffee
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience essential
- Strong knowledge of coffee equipment and maintenance
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- A passion for coffee, customer service, and building team culture
