A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Lewisham is seeking a part-time Year 6 Teacher to join their team as soon as possible . This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher looking to make a meaningful impact on students’ final year of primary education.

The position is a fixed-term contract until April , with the possibility of extension. The school is keen to arrange interviews for suitable candidates soon.

Role Overview

• Position: Year 6 Teacher

• Contract Type: Part-Time (2 days per week), Fixed-Term (until April)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and structured lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum.
• Prepare students for their end-of-key-stage assessments , ensuring they make strong progress.
• Assess and monitor student performance, providing tailored support where needed.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages confidence and academic success.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to maintain high teaching standards.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress.

Person Specification

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in Education or a relevant subject.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 2 , ideally within Year 6.
• Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment strategies.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A commitment to high expectations and student achievement.
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the school community.
