The Team and Areas of Ownership

Studios oversees the ownership of the flagship Product Information Management (PIM) product within Akeneo that is used daily by thousands of users worldwide to manage their global product information from just one place! 

Collaboration is an area part of the Studios product line. It helps to foster collaboration among users of the PIM tool within the wider Product Cloud suite (from Supplier Data Management through to Activations). 

Collaboration at Akeneo can take place between humans or technologies such as AI, APIs and so on. 

Our team shares ownership of the core PIM functionalities and has full end-to-end ownership of the Collaboration Workflows domain — from infrastructure to frontend, deployment and observability.

What you will deliver in the role…

• Extension of our PHP (Symfony) monolith by building advanced features centred around enhanced collaboration. 

• Apply a micro-frontend strategy using React.js to seamlessly integrate with the crucial legacy components of our core Product Information Management (PIM) system.

• Enhance our Collaboration Workflows utilising Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Hexagonal Architecture with CQRS on the backend. 

• Expansion of our API integration capabilities across the Cloud Suite and beyond

• Working cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders across multiple product lines

What will set you up for success at Akeneo…

• Demonstrable advanced-level proficiency across Full-Stack Engineering, utilising both PHP (Symfony) and React.js 

• All of our Senior+ Engineers have a good understanding of DevOps principles, microservices, and Cloud-based architectures at scale and are comfortable with deployment and observability best practices - we have a “Built It, Own It” approach..

• Provide mentorship and guidance to transfer knowledge across the function and upskill less experienced Engineers

• Stellar communication skills and an ability to “read the room” and adjust your vocabulary to suit both technical and non-technical audiences

• A test-driven and self-testing mindset where you build quality into your code from the get-go

• A customer-centric mindset that prioritises understanding user needs and business impact over technical perfection
