Clinical Fellow in Retrieval Medicine with London Access
Job responsibilities Your role as the Transfer doctor will be to champion the safe and efficient transfer of critically unwell patients across hospitals. You will play a pivotal role in streamlining practices, education, transfer operations, and governance within a single service, with a unified vision of ensuring equitable access to specialist care. Joining the largest of its kind in England, you will be part of Pan-London Specialist Teams dedicated to providing highly specialised cardiac, trauma, neurosurgical, and burns care. Additionally, you will contribute to the repatriation of patients back to their local Intensive Care units across the country. We are also working with other Trusts to consider 50/50 job share opportunities within their Intensive Care Units and ACCESS, further details will be available if you are successfully shortlisted. - GMC Registration
- Primary FRCA/MRCP or equivalent
- Completed stage 1 training in anaesthetics/ICM (or equivalent)
- Completed a transfer course and had clinical experience of inter-hospital transfers
- ALS or equivalent
- Full FRCA / FICM
- Experience in cardiothoracic critical care
- APLS/EPLS (instructor status
- FICE/FUSIC
- ATLS or equivalent (instructor status ideal)
- PHEC/MIMMS/MIMMS
- Diploma in Retrieval and Transfer Medicine
- Diploma in Immediate Medical care
- Understanding and knowledge of research and ability to interpret research papers
- Publications in critical care journals or in areas of special interest
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work under pressure and to adapt to changing clinical environments
- Ability to problem solve and escalate appropriately
- Experience in team leading
