Strategic Resource Management Senior Specialist (m/f/d)

A permanent opportunity has become available in London within our Strategic Resource Management function.

The Strategic Resource Management (SRM) function supports the delivery of effective, timely staffing solutions across client engagements, practices, and geographies. The role focuses on execution, coordination, and insight generation, working closely with all Resource Managers and senior stakeholders, to ensure consultants are deployed efficiently and in line with business priorities.

This role plays a key part in enabling a data-driven, structured resource management process, with a particular focus on refining and reducing management information. The role will use judgement to determine what leaders need to make decisions, rather than simply producing every output requested. It also offers strong experience in workforce planning, systems and stakeholder engagement within a fast-paced professional services environment.

This role will support resource management activity across the business, working with stakeholders to coordinate staffing, capacity and workforce planning priorities.

 

Key Responsibilities

Staffing Execution & Coordination

  • Support the day-to-day staffing process by coordinating resource requests, availability, and assignments across teams and engagements.
  • Assist in matching consultants to roles based on skills, availability, development goals, and engagement needs.
  • Track staffing changes, roll-offs, and upcoming needs to ensure continuity and minimise resourcing gaps.
  • Work closely with the Temporary Service Providers Office on the engagement of temporary service providers in support of client and corporate teams. This is an additional responsibility that sits alongside core SRM activity and is becoming more present within the role.

Capacity & Workforce Insight

  • Maintain accurate availability and engagement data across staffing system (Saviom).
  • Own and refine utilisation, capacity and availability management information for the Resource Management Director and leadership. Reduce unnecessary outputs and ensure the information provided is clear, accurate, timely and focused on the decisions leaders need to make.
  • Help identify short-term resourcing pressures or mismatches and escalate appropriately with context and data.

Stakeholder Support

  • Act as a key point of contact for routine queries.
  • Prepare for staffing discussions with PMDs and Practice leaders.
  • Communicate staffing decisions clearly and professionally, ensuring expectations are aligned and documented.

Systems, Data & Process Discipline

  • Ensure timely and accurate updates across resource management systems, supporting data quality and adoption.
  • Assist in testing, rollout, and adoption of new staffing tools, processes, or enhancements (e.g. Open needs, StaffLink, etc.).
  • Follow established governance, escalation, and prioritisation frameworks

Continuous Improvement & Team Contribution

  • Identify process inefficiencies, gaps in management information and recurring issues, then implement practical improvements. Challenge requests where appropriate, remove low-value outputs and establish clear measures and routines based on business need.
  • Support standardisation of ways of working across teams and regions.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation.

Scope & Level of Accountability

  • Operates with defined processes and guidance, escalating complex or sensitive decisions.
  • Accountable for accurate execution, data integrity, and reliable delivery within assigned scope.
  • Interacts regularly with consultants and engagement teams.

Background and qualifications

  • Consulting/professional services background is
  • Strong analysis and presentation capabilities, with excellent working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Actively identifies and implements AI-enabled improvements to management information and workflow processes to reduce manual effort, eliminate low-value outputs and improve turnaround times.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Experience using resource management planning software is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional European languages (French, Italian, German) are a plus
