Mixed Tax Senior – Music & Entertainment Clients
Location: London | Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 | Hybrid Working

Help Build and Shape a Newly Established Tax Function We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Tax Senior to join our newly established Tax Team , supporting a highly regarded business management firm that specialises in the music and entertainment industry .
This is a rare opportunity to work alongside the Senior Tax Manager to help build and centralise the firm’s tax function , creating a dedicated internal tax capability to support both the business management and accounts teams.
The role offers a unique blend of firmwide tax support and hands-on client portfolio responsibility , providing broad exposure across multiple taxes and complex, high-profile clients.
The Opportunity Historically, tax compliance and queries such as VAT, payroll, and reporting requirements have been handled across various teams, with responsibility shared between business managers, accounts, and external advisers.
The firm is now investing in a centralised tax function , and this role will play a key part in ensuring tax compliance is managed efficiently and consistently across the business.
You will report directly to the Senior Tax Manager and work closely with colleagues across the firm.
Your Role Firmwide Tax Support You will support the Senior Tax Manager in delivering firmwide tax oversight and ensuring compliance across various areas, including:
  • Providing payroll and VAT support to business management teams
  • Supporting compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements, including implementation of effective systems
  • Acting as a central point of contact for internal tax queries
  • Supporting tax compliance across personal tax, corporation tax, partnership tax, and VAT
  • Responding to HMRC enquiries , correspondence, and compliance matters
  • Assisting with quarterly reporting requirements and ensuring deadlines are met
Client Portfolio Responsibilities Alongside your firmwide role, you will manage your own allocated portfolio of clients, consisting primarily of:
  • Individuals
  • Trusts
  • Personal service companies
  • Partnerships
  • Property-owning entities
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparation and submission of Self-Assessment tax returns
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax and Partnership Tax returns
  • Preparation and review of VAT returns and MTD submissions
  • Computing Capital Gains Tax liabilities , including UK residential property disposals and real-time reporting
  • Providing ongoing compliance and tax planning support
  • Ensuring all client tax affairs are managed accurately and on time
  • Identifying issues and opportunities to add value to clients
Client Base – Music & Entertainment Sector You will work with a diverse and interesting client base across the music and entertainment industry , including:
  • Musicians and performers
  • Producers and creatives
  • Touring artists
  • Entertainment businesses
  • Property-owning structures
These clients often have complex financial affairs, making this a varied and engaging role.
Experience and Qualifications We are looking for someone who:
  • Has at least three years’ experience in a dedicated tax role
  • Has strong mixed tax compliance experience
  • Is confident preparing personal tax, corporate tax, partnership tax, and VAT returns
  • Has experience responding to HMRC enquiries
  • Is comfortable managing their own workload and client portfolio
  • Enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues across a firm
The following qualifications will be considered:
  • ACA qualified
  • ACCA qualified
  • ATT qualified
  • CTA qualified or part qualified
  • Or equivalent experience
