The Company

We are a growing technology organisation delivering complex projects and digital solutions for customers across life sciences, pharmaceuticals and other highly specialised sectors. Our environment combines technology delivery, consulting expertise and commercially managed projects, with multiple engagements running concurrently. This is a UK-based, remote-first opportunity offering significant autonomy, senior visibility and influence. You will work closely with the leadership team to strengthen programme management practices, improve delivery consistency and establish scalable ways of working.

The Role

As Head of Project Delivery, you will provide senior leadership across a broad portfolio of customer programmes supporting organisations across life sciences and pharma. You will bring structure to planning, governance, resource allocation, delivery risk and senior stakeholder management, ensuring projects remain aligned with commercial and strategic priorities.

You will shape the programme management framework, improve delivery standards and establish clear expectations for project leadership. You will provide senior oversight of complex issues, helping teams resolve dependencies, delivery risks and commercial challenges before they become significant problems. Working with senior leadership, you will provide clear visibility of portfolio performance and help create a consistent, scalable approach to programme delivery across a specialist client base.

• Lead portfolio-wide resource planning, prioritisation and delivery governance
• Chair regular programme reviews covering progress, risk, capacity and dependencies
• Own senior escalations and coordinate resolution of complex delivery issues.
• Develop programme frameworks, delivery standards, processes and governance.
• Shape the Project Manager career framework, hiring approach and quality expectations.
• Report portfolio performance, risks and delivery priorities to senior leadership.

Requirements

Must-Have

• Senior programme management, PMO or professional services leadership experience within technology or software environments.
• Strong experience managing complex, commercially governed technology projects or programmes.
• Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders, competing priorities and complex delivery escalations.
• Strong understanding of programme governance, resource planning, commercial considerations and delivery risk.
• Experience developing delivery frameworks, governance processes and project management standards.
• Executive communication skills with confidence influencing senior stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience delivering technology programmes for life sciences, pharmaceutical or other regulated organisations.
• Experience working across multiple concurrent customer or transformation programmes.
• History of scaling programme management or delivery functions during organisational growth.
• Evidence of establishing project management career frameworks or team structures.
• Formal programme or project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP or PMP.
