Analytics Engineer
We have all the makings of an iconic brand - beautiful products that are timeless and designed to last, service that exceeds our customers expectations, a passionate founder that cares deeply about doing what is right and a loyal and growing community who advocate for us.
As an Analytics Engineer at Monica Vinader , you’ll play a vital role in using data and technology to drive efficiency, scale, and elevate the customer experience. We're on a mission to empower every team through data-driven decision-making - and you’ll be at the heart of that transformation. From building and optimising systems, to solving complex problems and ensuring data quality, your work will unlock commercial value and power key business initiatives across the company.
What you’ll do
Data Platform & Infrastructure:
Architect, build, and maintain scalable and performant ELT pipelines and infrastructure using tools like GCP, BigQuery, dbt, third-party ingestion.
Lead data ingestion and transformation from a wide range of first and third-party systems (e.g., GA4, Bloomreach CDP, our Inventory and Finance platforms) ensuring consistent, reliable data access.
Collaborate with developers and other members of the data team to continuously improve data systems, reducing tech debt, increasing automation, and improving observability and diagnostics.
Govern and enhance reverse-ELT processes to enable data activation for marketing and experimentation teams.
Build for resilience and scale — proactively identifying areas for infrastructure optimisation.
Modelling and Analysis (with a focus on Digital Analytics):
Experience working with event-based analytics tools, with a preference for Google Analytics 4 (GA4), coupled with an understanding of user behaviour on a website and ecommerce tracking.
Proven ability to collaborate closely with stakeholders in teams such as Growth or Ecommerce, translating business questions into actionable insights and enabling data-driven experimentation.
Evidence of a strong data product mindset. You can uncover the true opportunity behind stakeholder requests, challenge assumptions constructively, and design lean, impactful data solutions.
Demonstrate commercial awareness by deeply understanding cross-functional team goals and translating them into clean, reusable models that power dashboards, reporting, and advanced analytics.
Automate repetitive data workflows to deliver timely, accurate insights and enable self-service capabilities for non-technical stakeholders.
Surface high-value website and customer datasets in BI tools like Sigma, Looker Studio, and Google Sheets, ensuring insights reach the people who need them most.
Governance, Testing & Quality
Establish robust quality frameworks including data validation, alerting, and monitoring to catch and resolve issues before they impact stakeholders.
Maintain clear and accessible documentation, improving data literacy and trust across teams.
Support data governance initiatives, ensuring responsible data use and alignment with privacy and compliance standards.
Innovation & AI Enablement
This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of MV’s AI program; we are on a mission to deploy industry-leading AI initiatives that drive business impact and enhance customer experience.
We take a ‘build vs. buy’ approach to AI, blending custom development with third party tools to rapidly deliver POCs in response to business problems. You’ll get hands-on with innovative, composable tooling to prototype, iterate fast, and productionise what works.
Stay up to date with emerging tech and practices in data engineering, analytics, and AI, advocating for thoughtful adoption.
Evangelise data capabilities internally, supporting analysts, marketers, and operators in better leveraging the data platform.
What you’ll bring
Proven experience designing and maintaining modern data pipelines in cloud-native environments (preferably GCP and BigQuery).
Strong command of SQL and Python; experience with ELT tools (dbt) and reverse-ELT tools like Census
Hands-on experience modelling event-based datasets (e.g. GA4 in GBQ) and integrating customer, product, and operational data sources into functional data tools.
Deep understanding of data quality, observability, and performance best practices.
Familiarity with agile workflows and experience working closely with product and ecommerce and growth teams.
A proactive mindset - you take ownership, identify inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvements.
A collaborative communicator who can bridge technical complexity and business needs with ease.
Desire to keep up with the industry particularly from an AI perspective.
A strong interest in the evolving AI landscape and experience supporting AI/ML use cases through feature engineering, model-ready data pipelines, or production data workflows.
