Location: Lambeth Youth Homelessness Pathway with occasional travel to Centrepoint London Office (Aldgate East, London E1) to meet with the wider PIE team.

Closing Date: 02 September 2025

Interviews to be held w/c 08 September 2025.

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity and it’s our people that make this happen and you can play a leading part in our vision. PIE is a strategic priority for Centrepoint following PIE developments across the wider homeless sector and reflects the charity’s commitment to psychological practice across the organisation to improve our outcomes for staff working within, and young people living within homeless services.

Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model. The requirement is a minimum of 50% of your working week. For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office for five days over a two-week period (e.g., two days one week and three days the next). For colleagues on different contracts (including part-time or compressed contracts) this will be adjusted accordingly.

We have an amazing opportunity for a HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist to join us in the Centrepoint PIE Team to support the delivery of a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) in the Lambeth Young Person Homeless Pathway – the Lambeth Emotional Well-being Service (LEWS). The role will involve staff consultation, training and reflective practice within homeless services in the pathway, as well as the delivery of clinical psychology group based interventions / crises support / neuropsychological assessments to young people (aged 16-25 years) in conjunction with psychology and psychotherapy colleagues within Lambeth.

You will be interested in working within the homeless sector, preferably with some experience of working with ‘complex’ needs and an interest in working with young people who have experienced homelessness to #changethestory. You will work within the Lambeth PIE Team, but have further support and contact with the wider national PIE Team. You will love your career in Centrepoint, where each member of the team works towards our unique approach to helping young people with ‘a home and a job’.

What you’ll be doing

  • Offering your skills as a Clinical Psychologist to support the roll out of Centrepoint’s Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE), under the supervision of the Principal PIE Psychologist in the Lambeth Emotional Well-being Service (LEWS), supported by the national Head of PIE.
  • Support the implementation of PIE Training, as well as other psychologically informed training sessions, for staff within the Lambeth pathway.
  • Lead reflective practice sessions for staff teams within the Lambeth pathway.
  • Offer your psychological skills and knowledge to support and provide psychological consultation to staff within the homeless services.
  • Deliver neuropsychological assessments / group based and crises interventions to homeless young people within the Lambeth pathway services.
  • Ensure the highest levels of safeguarding and risk management for our young people.
  • Support the co-production work with homeless young people in the pathway, including a steering group and other YPI activities as appropriate.
  • Support research and policy work within Centrepoint, in conjunction with the Head of PIE and the wider PIE team.
  • Promote diversity and equality throughout all practices.
  • Keep up to date with the current evidence base, as well as future trends or issues within the sector.

What we’d be looking for from you

  • HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist with a strong interest in homelessness and the psychologically informed environment (PIE) approach.
  • Some experience of working with ‘complex’ needs, ideally homelessness or young people.
  • An interest in working in the charity sector with frontline staff and young people to #changethestory
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to adapt and engage with a variety of young people, colleagues and external partners.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload, working both autonomously and seeking appropriate clinical supervision as required.
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office & SPSS type programs.
  • Using our values of Energy, Focus, Accountability, Humility and Integrity and being Entrepreneurial, you’ll be able to display these in your everyday work and interactions to find new and improved ways of working and helping end youth homelessness.

What we offer in return

  • 25 days of annual leave per year, rising by one day per year to a maximum of 27 days
  • Healthcare cash plan (Cover the costs of a wide range of medical treatment including Dental, Optical, Complementary and Alternative therapies).
  • Private Medical insurance
  • Income protection
  • Employer pension contributions of 5%
  • Access to Cycle 2 Work loan scheme
  • An interest-free travel loan
