An ambitious and warm Year 1 Teacher is required to join a supportive Good primary in Southwark on a Full-Time contract commencing January 2026 . The successful Year 1 Teacher will be invited to pre-term planning sessions prior to January 2026 , will attend induction during January 2026 , and will be fully teaching from January 2026 as a Full-Time Year 1 Teacher . The school offers structured CPD and mentor support for the Year 1 Teacher from the moment planning begins before January 2026 , through induction in January 2026 , and into the spring term after January 2026 .

(Year 1 Teacher) Responsibilities
• The Year 1 Teacher will plan and teach systematic phonics sessions, guided reading and writing sequences as the Year 1 Teacher.
• The Year 1 Teacher will deliver confident maths lessons, run targeted interventions and track progress as the Year 1 Teacher.
• The Year 1 Teacher will engage with families, attend parents’ evenings and support transitions — responsibilities the Year 1 Teacher will begin preparing for before January 2026 and continue after January 2026 .

(Year 1 Teacher) Requirements
• QTS and recent KS1 experience expected of the Year 1 Teacher .
• A Year 1 Teacher with strong phonics expertise, calm behaviour management and the ability to work collaboratively.
• The Year 1 Teacher must be available for pre-term planning prior to January 2026 , induction in January 2026 , and the Full-Time start in January 2026 .

Contract & next steps
This is a Full-Time Year 1 Teacher vacancy starting January 2026 . The Full-Time Year 1 Teacher will have protected PPA, mentoring and access to subject networks from January 2026 and beyond. The Full-Time Year 1 Teacher will be fully supported from induction in January 2026and during the following term.
