A friendly and well-organised primary school in Camden is looking to appoint a highly capable and experienced Senior Admin Officer to join its busy school office. This is an excellent opportunity for an administrator who is confident taking responsibility, managing competing priorities and providing a professional first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school's administrative systems operate efficiently. You will work closely with the Headteacher, School Business Manager and wider leadership team, supporting areas such as pupil records, attendance, admissions, finance, communications and general school administration. Similar Camden primary school administration positions include responsibility for admissions, attendance, finance, data management and school systems.
The Role
This is a varied position for someone who enjoys working at the heart of a school community. You will help coordinate the day-to-day running of the school office while ensuring important information and records are accurate and up to date.
You will also be expected to communicate confidently with parents and carers, deal with sensitive matters professionally and provide reliable administrative support to senior leaders.
The role would suit someone who is already working in a school office or someone with strong senior administrative experience who is looking to transfer their skills into education.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the day-to-day administration of the school office.
Provide administrative support to the Headteacher and senior leadership team.
Maintain accurate pupil and staff records.
Manage attendance and punctuality information.
Support admissions and pupil registration processes.
Update the school's management information system.
Prepare letters, reports, spreadsheets and other documentation.
Deal professionally with telephone and email enquiries.
Act as an approachable first point of contact for parents, carers and visitors.
Support finance administration, including orders, invoices and purchasing.
Maintain confidential records and ensure information is handled appropriately.
Organise meetings, appointments and school events.
Liaise with external organisations and local authority services when required.
Support other members of the administrative team.
Ensure safeguarding concerns are passed to the appropriate member of staff.
Follow school policies relating to confidentiality, GDPR, health and safety and safeguarding.

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a school office, education setting or busy administrative environment . Previous senior-level administrative experience would be particularly advantageous.
You should have:
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience maintaining accurate records and databases.
Confidence handling confidential information.
The ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff and external professionals.

The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
A proactive attitude and willingness to take responsibility.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
Experience using SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or another school management information system would be beneficial.
