The role

Duties and responsibilities
Develop a Food Safety and Quality Annual Strategy for the business in line with growth plans including quarterly tracking of KPIs and reporting mechanisms.- Manage contractors - where applicable, by establishing regular review mechanisms and holding them accountable to perform in line with the company's performance standards.
- Ensure Food Safety and Quality Systems are robust and aligned with retailer requirements - domestic and international.
- Own technical governance for the entire Doughlicious product range - including food safety, packaging compliance, labelling, claims against legal requirements - domestic and international, together with the RTNTS team.
- Work with NPD and Procurement to approve ingredient product specifications and build robust controls to ensure claims are upheld and products are clean label with clear chain of custody.
- Lead supplier approval and ensure a robust review of documentation and controls prior to supplier onboarding, including supplier audits and annual reviews.
- Build strong relationships with the supplier base alongside the Head of Procurement and NPD Director.
- Work with the NPD team to ensure new and existing product specifications database is comprehensive, accurate and commercial ready at all times.
- Ensure New Product launches are approved and signed off including gate paperwork and product trials from a food safety and feasibility standpoint.
- Lead the HACCP, VACCP and TACCP for the business ensuring regular review and monitoring of controls and process at a minimum on a quarterly cycle.
- Lead external audits for customers, food safety standards and regulatory bodies; ensure a robust framework for internal audits.
- Support the growth of the business globally by advising on technical infrastructure and requirements as the business expands and sets up factories internationally.
- Be the central point of contact for regulatory agencies and customers for all things food safety.
- Review and approve paperwork and certificate documentation for exports globally catering to country specific requirements.
- Lead the initiative to further food safety culture across the business.
Experience and skills
- Degree educated in a relevant discipline
- Good people management
- At least 5 years experience at a similar level in food manufacturing
- HACCP level 3 minimum – level 4 desirable
- Sound knowledge of BRC
