Part-time Housekeeper-Cook, Job ID J21EA5
A lovely family based in Chiswick, London, is seeking an experienced Housekeeper-Cook to help maintain their high-standard private residence and prepare meals for the family.
The ideal candidate will have strong housekeeping and cooking experience and will speak fluent English. Someone reliable, organised, detail-oriented, and confident working in a high-standard private household would be ideal for this role.
The housekeeper-cook will be responsible for overseeing the daily cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of the home. Duties will include floor care, dusting, polishing, bathroom cleaning, kitchen maintenance, laundry, ironing, wardrobe care, bed making, linen changes, and dishware management.
Cooking will also be required, and the family would prefer someone confident preparing Gujarati cuisine. The family has 4 children, and light supervision for the youngest two children would be a bonus, along with meal preparation.
No pet care will be required. A driver would be a bonus, but this is not essential.
A valid first aid certification would be a bonus due to the occasional light childcare supervision.
Working hours: 4 to 5 days per week, around 25 hours per week, with Saturday added on an ad-hoc basis
Duties include:
- maintaining the daily cleanliness and presentation of a high-standard private residence
- keeping the home organised, tidy, and welcoming
- sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors
- dusting, polishing, and caring for furniture and fixtures
- cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, including sinks, countertops, bathtubs, and showers
- maintaining high hygiene standards in the kitchen
- cleaning appliances and sanitising kitchen surfaces
- organising kitchen workspaces and cupboards
- managing laundry, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and storing garments
- supporting wardrobe management
- making beds and changing linens
- hand-washing delicate dishware
- loading and unloading the dishwasher
- preparing family meals
- cooking Gujarati cuisine, if possible
- preparing meals for the children
- providing light supervision for the youngest two children, if agreed
The family is looking for someone who can start on 10 August 2026.
