JOB: Community & School Outreach Worker, ADHD Embrace
Salary: £32,000 – £36,500 per annum pro rata / 24 hours per week
In this part-time, flexible role, you can help ensure that children and young people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are understood, supported and able to thrive.
ADHD Embrace is seeking someone to support parents and schools working with children and young people with ADHD, as well as working with young people directly in order to help them thrive.
This is a varied and a key role in our service provision with two components.
Community outreach is to support families on their journey and to ensure that they have greater knowledge of ADHD and also an introduce them to the ADHD Embrace community. This will be achieved by providing services to families such as Post Diagnosis Workshops, running meet-ups and developing workshops. There is also a requirement to more generally grow awareness and understanding of ADHD in the wider community.
Schools outreach is to engage with schools and deliver training on ADHD within schools to staff, as well as delivering ADHD awareness sessions for parents at school coffee mornings.
You’ll need to be a confident presenter and a well organised individual, who is able to prioritise, with at least 3 years experience. Your past experience may have been as a teacher, trainer, healthcare professional, family support worker or social worker.
The post holder will be required to travel locally and own transport will be necessary.
The role offers a flexible working pattern and will include occasional weekend and evening work, as required for events.
