WHY YOU'RE HERE

You're here to prepare the food and drink offering for the Jamie Oliver Cafe in John Lewis, ensuring the food and experience for all guests meet our high standards.

You're responsible for the preparation and execution of the menu. Your cheffing ability and organisational skills will ensure our offer is delivered to spec, to budget and to our operational and food safety standards.

WHAT YOU'RE HERE TO DO

Food Preparation & Menu Delivery

• Ensure all food is prepared to the specified recipes, presentation guidelines, and quality standards set
• Working collaboratively with the cafe chef, ensure all food for the cafe is prepared to spec, compliant to our food safety standards.

Guest Experience

• Ensure the cafe counter is always clean, organised, visually appealing and reflects the high standards of our brand.
• Ensure that the entire cafe, including the dining area, kitchen, and counter, is maintained to impeccable hygiene and cleanliness standards, creating a welcoming environment for guests.

Kitchen Management

• Dispatch of all produce and deliveries in an organised manner, following FIFO, checked against purchase specifications and purchase order.
• Keeping the fridges clean, organised and following food hygiene standards.
• Ensure daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties are carried out, ensuring the company cleaning guide is followed as instructed by senior chefs
• A good management of stock, rotation and replenishment

Food Safety & Compliance

You are responsible for our compliance with food safety, HACCP, H&S, and hygiene in the cafe.

• Food safety. You'll follow all food safety requirements and ensure all food handling in the cafe is compliant.
• HACCP & Health and safety. You will follow all HACCP guidelines and health and safety requirements.
• Hygiene and presentation. You'll have a high level of respect and care for the business, the teams' and your own hygiene and presentation.
