New Business Development Officer

Job purpose: To help grow unrestricted and restricted income for Health Poverty Action through emerging donor and new business approaches

Salary: £28,000 to £36,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Full Time 35 hours. Flexible options considered

Location: Home-based within the UK

Responsible to: Head of Programmes Asia

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to shape the future of Health Poverty Action’s work in Asia.

As our New Business Development Officer, you’ll play a critical role in growing, developing and implementing strategies to diversify our funding sources both in HPA programme countries in Asia and in the UK, and developing this capacity among regional and country teams in Asia to do so.

With traditional institutional funding shrinking, this role will be at the forefront of building new partnerships with emerging donors, governments, businesses, and individuals. You’ll explore innovative models, from social enterprises to strategic alliances, that can sustain our programmes and core costs.

We’re looking for a proactive, strategic, and dynamic individual who thrives on relationship-building, problem-solving and has a track record of engaging successfully with public institutions.

You’ll bring both vision and practical know-how to expand our existing social enterprise work and replicate successful models in new contexts. Whether it’s forging partnerships with businesses, building trust with government agencies, or working hand-in-hand with local teams to develop fresh programme opportunities, you’ll be central to keeping our work sustainable and impactful.

This is a role with real scope to shape how we grow: supporting country teams to strengthen relationships with existing donors, opening doors to new ones, and designing programmes that make a tangible difference for the communities we serve across Asia.
