School Operations Manager (SOM) - SEMH School
Location: Plaistow, Newham
Hours: Full-Time, 8-4
Salary: Competitive - Dependent on Experience

Remedy Education is seeking a highly experienced School Operations Manager for a specialist SEMH school based in Plaistow, Newham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong operational professional with a proven background in premises management, health & safety and facilities coordination .
We need someone who can hit the ground running, take responsibility and ensure the school operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily school operations, premises and facilities.
Oversee health & safety compliance, risk assessments and site security.
Coordinate maintenance, contractors and statutory safety checks.
Ensure fire safety procedures and emergency protocols are maintained.
Monitor building conditions and proactively resolve site issues.
Work closely with senior leadership to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
Support wider administrative and operational requirements.
Essential Requirements:
Significant experience in premises, facilities or school operations management.
Strong working knowledge of health & safety legislation.
Experience with risk assessments, fire safety and building compliance.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently.
Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
Experience in an SEMH, SEN or alternative provision setting desirable.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong practical understanding of premises and health & safety, rather than purely administrative experience.
