Senior Product Manager, Payments

InvestEngine
London

About InvestEngine

InvestEngine is everything the modern investor should need. Unbeatable value, market-leading automation, and built for easy, long-term investing. We’ve built a strong foundation, have over £2 billion invested, award-winning service, and a passionate team, now we’re ready to scale.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager, Payments to join our Product team, reporting to the Head of Product, Backoffice. Your mission is to make moving money into and out of InvestEngine as seamless as possible, using technology and strong partnerships to deliver reliable, scalable payment experiences, automate processes and power our marketing promotions.

You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, customer experience, compliance and marketing, as well as our payment partners, and have the autonomy to own solutions from end to end.

What You’ll Do

Product strategy and delivery

  • Own the vision, strategy and roadmap for our money-in and money-out payment rails and our promotions engine

  • Lead discovery and delivery of new payment functionality, from identifying opportunities through to launch and measurement

  • Identify and automate manual processes and customer journeys to improve efficiency, reliability and the customer experience

  • Work with engineering to deliver scalable integrations and manage dependencies across payments, trading and reconciliation

Partners and stakeholders

  • Own product relationships with our payment partners, including TrueLayer and GoCardless, aligning roadmaps, resolving issues and spotting opportunities to innovate

  • Own and develop the promotions engine that powers our marketing campaigns, working closely with Marketing

  • Work with Operations, Customer Experience and Compliance so journeys are practical, well controlled and deliver good customer outcomes

  • Communicate priorities, trade-offs and progress to stakeholders and senior leadership

Risk and commercial impact

  • Balance innovation and speed with payment reliability, operational risk and regulatory requirements

  • Build business cases for investment, considering customer value, cost and operational impact

  • Monitor the payments market and identify opportunities to improve our proposition

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid product management experience, including ownership of complex payment products or journeys (e.g. Open Banking, Direct Debit, Faster Payments, payouts)

  • A track record of delivering new payment functionality and integrating with third-party providers

  • Experience automating manual processes and customer journeys, with measurable improvements

  • Strong experience managing external partners, aligning priorities and influencing roadmaps

  • Ability to work closely with engineers on integrations and dependencies across multiple systems

  • Confident using data to prioritise, build business cases and measure outcomes

  • Sound judgement in balancing customer experience, commercial value, operational risk and control

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • English fluency (C1 level and above)

Nice to Have

  • Fintech or investing experience, particularly how payments connect to trading and reconciliation

  • Experience with promotions, incentives, rewards or referral platforms

  • Practical use of AI in your product work

How We Work

We’re a lean, fast-moving team that values clarity, ownership, and transparency. You’ll have the freedom to experiment, the responsibility to follow through, and the backing of a team that values clear thinking and open dialogue. We believe in solving problems at the root, not just treating the symptoms.

What We Offer

Impact from day one
You’ll own a critical part of the customer experience and see the results of your work quickly.

Room to grow
As we scale, you’ll have opportunities to expand your responsibilities, influence how we work, and help shape our long-term direction.

Transparent and open culture
We share decisions openly, keep communication channels clear, and encourage collaboration across every part of the business.

Supportive, high-calibre team
Work alongside talented professionals who are experts in their fields — smart, driven, and generous with their knowledge.

Hybrid and flexible
Hybrid working from our London office, with a focus on results, not rigid hours.

Our Hiring Process

  1. Introductory call with our Talent team

  2. Interview with the hiring manager focused on your payments and product experience

  3. Product case discussion

  4. Senior leadership interview to explore alignment with our culture, values and strategic direction
