Quality Administrator
Start Date expected to be 15th July but this may be delayed.
Please note this is a Full-Time and is NOT suitable for current students.
Duties and responsibilities
The Quality Administrator is responsible for supporting the day to day operations and administration of the quality procedures within the School and supporting the Quality Officers with assessment administration. They will ensure the provision of an efficient and professional service to students and academic staff within the School working closely with the Quality Manager and Quality Officers.
Main duties include:
- Data entry and validation. Ensuring data matches the SCC Module Specification documents with regards to the CMS (Curriculum Management System) migration project
- Writing minutes for meetings and assisting with reports.
- Logging Academic Misconduct Meetings and triaging the shared mailbox.
- Assisting the Quality & Student Experience Manager with attendance monitoring administration tasks.
- Liaise with colleagues to gather and update information in relation to the Schools’ Quality Assurance processes (e.g. module evaluations, external examining, monitoring the timely return of student marks and feedback, academic misconduct reporting, study adjustments for disabled students, collating data on Assessment Boards).
- Collate data, organise meetings and provide administrative support to ensure the above processes run smoothly.
- Support the Quality Officers in updating and maintaining both internal and student facing quality information and communications (such as programme and module specifications, information on quality processes and details of student cases).
- Any other duties appropriate to the post under the direction of the Quality Manager
Skills and experience
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent (i.e. professional qualification or considerable relevant experience).
- First degree or equivalent (i.e. professional qualification or considerable relevant experience).
Experience
- Experience of working in a busy customer focused office environment
- Experience of working in Higher Education administration
- Previous data entry and validation experience is desirable.
Skills and Abilities
- Well-developed active listening, verbal and written communication skills that allow you to work effectively with students with empathy and tact
- The ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail under minimum supervision.
- Ability to manage challenging and complex situations calmly and effectively, seeking support from specialist support services colleagues as necessary
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to deal with enquiries effectively and efficiently and with tact and diplomacy and deal comfortably with staff at all levels
- Ability to plan and prioritise own work, to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities, and to take a flexible and proactive approach to work and change
- The ability to identify potential solutions for problems
- The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Confident in the use of IT systems, particularly the use of MS office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be confident using spreadsheets.
Preferred if they have :
- Experience of Moodle (or other VLE)
- Experience of minute taking or servicing committees
