Solutions Architect
The Role
NewStore is seeking a Solutions Architect to act as a trusted technical advisor to global retail brands as they transform their in-store and omnichannel experiences. In this role, you will guide customers from initial discovery through solution design and delivery, helping them translate business goals into scalable, high-quality technical architectures on the NewStore platform.
You will lead the technical direction of customer implementations, working closely with client technology teams, solution partners, and NewStore product and engineering teams. This role is ideal for someone with deep retail and commerce experience who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing technical decisions, and shaping solutions that scale globally.
This role is remote first and to be based in the UK with <10% international travel.
What You'll Do
Partner with customers to understand business objectives and technical constraints, translating them into well-architected NewStore solutions
Lead technical discovery and solution design across NewStore, existing client systems, and third-party integrations with a focus on scalability, performance, and operational excellence
Serve as a subject matter expert and technical advisor, guiding customers and solution partners toward sound architectural decisions
Architect complex omnichannel solutions spanning ecommerce, OMS, POS/(m)POS, CRM, ERP, and fulfillment systems
Collaborate closely with NewStore Product Management and Engineering to align customer needs with platform capabilities and roadmap considerations
Influence and guide customer technical teams and delivery partners through clear recommendations, documentation, and hands-on leadership when required
Own the technical quality of implementations from kickoff through delivery, ensuring solutions meet agreed business objectives, timelines, and architectural standards
Anticipate and proactively address risks related to scalability, regionalization, performance, and long-term maintainability
Support successful customer outcomes by balancing near-term delivery needs with long-term platform sustainability
What you bring (and what you’ll learn)
3+ years of relevant experience across several of the following domains:
eCommerce, OMS, in-store retail, and (m)POS systems
CRM, ERP, and fulfillment integrations
Strong technical foundation across client- and server-side technologies, including RESTful APIs, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, Python, web technologies, and mobile applications
Experience designing and delivering solutions on public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS), with an understanding of scalability, security, and integration patterns
Proven experience delivering complex, customer-facing projects on time, in scope, and aligned to business objectives
Comfortable operating as a consultative, customer-facing architect who enjoys partnering closely with clients and third-party delivery teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, additional languages nice to have
Ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders through clarity, credibility, and pragmatism
Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges tied to scale, performance, and international deployment considerations
Highly adaptable, composed, and confident in fast-moving and ambiguous environments
University degree in a technical field such as Engineering or Computer Science preferred
Willingness to travel <10%
