Café Team Member - Daylesford Organic

ABOUT THE ROLE
Located in the heart of Notting Hill , Daylesford Organic is a vibrant neighbourhood destination where our passion for organic farming, seasonal food and sustainable living comes to life.
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Café Team Member to join our team in Notting Hill. In this role, you will help deliver a warm and welcoming experience for every guest, serving delicious seasonal dishes, barista-made coffees and fresh food made using organic ingredients from our farm. You will play an important part in creating a relaxed yet elevated café atmosphere where customers can enjoy the very best of Daylesford.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment , has a passion for great food and hospitality , and takes pride in delivering exceptional service as part of a supportive team .
HOURS: 32 hours a week, including weekends.
SALARY: £12.43 per hour plus tronc and paid weekly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
Deliver a warm and welcoming experience for every guest by greeting customers, taking orders efficiently, and answering any questions about the menu or our organic produce. Ensure each guest enjoys a positive and memorable visit to the café.
Food and Beverage Preparation
Prepare coffee, tea and other beverages to a high standard, alongside simple food items, following established recipes and presentation guidelines. Maintain consistency and quality in line with Daylesford’s brand standards.
Cleanliness and Hygiene
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic café environment at all times. This includes regularly cleaning tables, counters, equipment and service areas while adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Support the team with restocking supplies, assisting with basic inventory management and helping one another during busy service periods to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Previous café, hospitality, or customer-facing experience is preferred, ideally within a busy café or food service environment.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable manner and a genuine passion for creating a positive guest experience.
Strong communication skills , with confident spoken English and the ability to engage warmly with customers and colleagues.
Barista experience is advantageous, or a willingness to learn and develop coffee-making skills.
A proactive and positive attitude , with the ability to remain calm and efficient during busy service periods.
Strong teamwork skills , with a collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues when needed.
Good attention to detail , ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and product quality.
Interest in organic food, sustainability, and the Daylesford philosophy , with enthusiasm for sharing this with customers.
Flexible and reliable , with the ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and busy seasonal periods.
