In this role, your main functions include the preparation and service of hot and cold dishes, responsibility for the section, and carrying out ordering and stock rotation where necessary. What You’ll Do

• Taking control of the kitchen when the Executive chef and sous chefs are not present.
• Estimating and communicating daily production needs
• Responding appropriately to guest needs during hours of operation
• Ensuring that internal customers are communicated with on a daily basis
• Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards
• Assessing quality control and adhere to service standards including the support of food cost control

What we’re looking for

• You must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that you can perform the essential functions of the job using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace, with good communication skills.
• Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and solve practical problems in varying situations.
• Ideally you will hold, a recognised culinary qualification (Advantageous if candidate is trained to NVQ 3 – professional cookery)
• Advantageous to hold a current Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate level 2.

• Must have at least 3 years previous experience in a high quality kitchen environment
