Outreach Tutor - Dagenham, East London About the role: The Outreach Tuition service supports children who are temporarily unable to attend full-time school due to illness, special circumstances, or the unavailability of a suitable school place. Their goal is to help students continue their education, prevent underachievement, and prepare them for a successful return to full-time school. As an Outreach Tutor, you will deliver short-term, targeted tuition in core subjects, primarily Maths and English, with opportunities to expand into Science, Life Skills, and mentoring. Tuition can take place in-person at school, community centres, libraries, or online, with regular welfare visits arranged for online learners. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and personalised tuition to Key Stage 2-4 students. Support students academically and behaviourally to help them transition successfully back to full-time education. Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs. Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to Outreach coordinators. Work closely with schools, caseworkers, parents, and the Outreach team. Conduct tuition in line with safeguarding and welfare requirements.Requirements: Experience teaching or tutoring in core subjects (Maths and English). Ability to support students with diverse needs, including SEND and medical conditions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexible approach to teaching locations, including schools, community centres, libraries, or online. DBS check and safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).Why join the team?
