Mobile Automotive Technician - Wembley
Join Our Team as a Mobile Vehicle Technician
Step into a new era of mobile repair with our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) Division. We are seeking a dedicated Mobile Vehicle Technician to deliver exceptional service directly to our members, whether at their driveway or workplace car park. This is not your typical roadside rescue role; instead, you'll enjoy a structured work environment with no emergency callouts.
What We Offer
- Competitive Salary: Base salary of £45,378 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, if applicable), with on-target earnings of up to £57,000.
- Guaranteed Overtime: Option to increase your base salary with additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
- Flexible Hours: 40 hours per week, with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.
Your Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
- Perform in-depth repairs typically completed in a workshop.
- Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
- Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards.
What You’ll Need
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
Working Conditions
Enjoy a structured workday with a clear digital schedule. Each job is pre-booked, allowing you to prepare adequately and deliver quality service. You will be provided with:
- A fully equipped RAC van.
- Fuel card and uniform.
- Full tool set and advanced diagnostics.
Benefits
- Earnings That Motivate: Market-competitive salary with opportunities for bonuses and premium-rate overtime.
- Guaranteed Overtime: After your first month, opt to work extra days at £30 per hour.
- Tools to Drive Your Future: Free RAC Ultimate Complete Breakdown Service from day one and access to a car salary sacrifice scheme.
- Time Off That Matters: 23 days of holiday (rising to 25 with service) plus bank holidays.
- Financial Security: Pension scheme with up to 6.5% matched contributions and life assurance cover.
- Wellbeing Support: 24/7 confidential support service for you and your household members.
- Extras: Access to exclusive discounts and a stake in our collective success through the Colleague Share Scheme.
Opportunities for Growth
We are committed to your ongoing development, including training in future EV and diagnostic skills. This role offers the independence and variety you seek, while being part of a trusted national organization.
Who Thrives Here?
If you are not only skilled with tools but also excel in customer service, this role is for you. Our Mobile Mechanics are the face of the organization, providing reassurance and high-quality service directly to our members. You will enjoy:
- Independence in a mobile role.
- Stability and support from a trusted national organization.
- A role where providing peace of mind to members is part of your daily work.
