Senior Technical Project Manager
- End-to-End Delivery: Own the lifecycle of complex technical projects, from initial scoping and architecture reviews to deployment and post-launch monitoring.
- End-to-End Documentation Management: Own the creation and maintenance of all project-specific documentation, including technical design specifications, comprehensive project and deployment plans, testing protocols (FAT/UAT/SAT), budget reports and post-implementation benefit realisation reports
- Technical Advocacy: Partner with Engineering Leads to identify technical bottlenecks, manage technical debt, and ensure the scalability of solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing issues related to deployed software, translating complex technical concepts into non-technical language.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify issues that could arise within the project such as technical dependencies, adoption of the design solution, budget and resourcing.
- Driving Delivery Standards: Ensure the team follows proven best practices to deliver high-quality work, while keeping leadership informed of any risks and meeting regularly with customers to maintain open communication and ensure they are seeing value. BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical degree.
- 7+ years of experience in commercial software project management and product delivery.
- Advanced Technical Communication: Ability to translate complex software issues for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic Delivery: Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex software solutions for major customers.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy: Expert written and verbal communication skills with a focus on managing client relationships.
- Operational Excellence: Highly organised and disciplined approach to requirement management in delivery-driven environments.
- Security Clearance: Must meet NPPV3 requirements (includes minimum 3 years UK residency). Desirable:
- Agile Expertise: Knowledge of Agile principles, ideally with (or working toward) professional certification.
- Virtual Leadership: Experience leading and motivating remote or virtual teams. Nice to have

The Motorola Solutions 'International Mobile Applications' organisation is responsible for creating the mission critical software solutions which serve emergency first responders across public safety agencies worldwide. The solutions created by this organisation are used by hundreds of thousands of police officers, firefighters and paramedics every day and aim to improve the effectiveness of our emergency services response. The various applications that we build for first responders are deployed across a wide range of different device types and are sophisticated solutions comprising client applications, server applications, web applications and databases. Within the organisation, we are organised into different product groups focusing on different sectors and territories across the world. This specific role is focused on our solution which serves UK Police agencies. Our 'Pronto' team is the largest supplier of mobile police apps in the UK, providing software to half of the UK's 45 police forces - used by around 70,000 police officers on a daily basis. Based in the West End of Glasgow, we currently have around 80 employees. Our team started as Kelvin Connect in 2002, a spin-out company from the University of Glasgow. Now, as part of Motorola Solutions, we continue to expand with future opportunities in the UK and beyond. The Senior Technical Project Manager will be responsible for leading a squad consisting of other Technical Project Managers, Software Engineers and Test Engineers. As part of this squad they will be responsible for several customer projects, setting the direction and strategy for each, and being the "face" of Motorola. They will also be line manager and mentor to the other Technical Project Managers in the squad, delegating work as appropriate. This is a hybrid role, where time will be split between our Glasgow office and your home.
