Senior 3D Motion Designer (Hiring Immediately)

Jones Knowles Ritchie
London

Jones Knowles Ritchie (JKR) is a branding business, founded in 1990 and proudly independent ever since.

We started out in the world of packaging, but now we’re worldwide; from three founders, to more than 320 of us across the UK and USA. Together, we build and deliver brands across the entire consumer experience.

But even more important than what we do, is why we do it. We’re here to inspire brands and people to be their true selves. To be brave. Be tenacious. And above all, be yourself. Because we believe that’s the only way to truly be distinctive, everywhere.

We are keen to talk to Senior 3D Motion Designer candidates who desire leading by example and delivering technically excellent, beautifully crafted 3D motion work that brings brands and products to life with real-world authenticity.

As a Senior 3D Motion Designer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D motion content across brand and product work. You will be the team's specialist in realistic 3D animation, product visualisation, materials, lighting and simulation.

You will bring a strong technical foundation combined with a sharp creative eye, producing work that pushes creative excellence. You will also stay across emerging AI tools and help shape how the team integrates them into production workflows.

As a Senior within the motion team, you will set a high bar for craft and help develop the skills of those around you.

Location: London

Minimum of 2 days p/w in office

Responsibilities

  • Producing high-quality 3D motion work across product and brand projects, from concept through to final delivery.
  • Creating realistic product visualisations including complex materials, surfaces, liquids and environmental simulations.
  • Maintaining an exceptional standard of craft across lighting, rendering and compositing.
  • Pushing creative and technical quality beyond what is asked for.

AI and Innovation

  • Staying on top of emerging AI tools and sharing knowledge with the wider team.
  • Actively exploring how AI can be integrated into 3D and motion workflows to improve efficiency and output quality.

  • Sharing technical knowledge and helping others develop their 3D skills.
  • Responding positively to creative feedback and adapting direction when needed.
  • Contributing ideas and approaches that push the team's collective output forward.

At JKR, our goal is to create an equitable, diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects and creates for the societies we live in. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is a long-term business imperative and a commitment at JKR, not an initiative that sits under one department. You will demonstrate being a DE+I advocate and champion with your actions and participation.

Requirements

  • A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional 3D motion work, with a focus on product visualisation and realistic render quality.
  • 5+ years of motion design experience, with a significant focus on 3D.

  • Strong understanding of materials, lighting, shading and physical simulation (liquids, condensation, rigid/soft body).
  • Solid motion skills: timing, easing, animation principles and how they apply to 3D.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere for compositing and finishing.
  • A keen interest in AI tools and a proactive approach to exploring how they can improve speed and quality of output.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects without compromising on craft.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present and discuss creative decisions clearly.
