Internal Finishing Manager (Contract – Stanmore, Greater London)

Duration: Starting immediately – March next year

About the Role:
We're seeking an Internal Finishing Manager to oversee the quality and delivery of internal finishes on a school project in Stanmore. You’ll lead by example, ensuring all finishing trades are proactively checking and addressing their own work before progressing. Your role will include rigorous snagging of internal finishes and managing the quality assurance process to consistently deliver a high-standard finish.

You will also be the primary interface with key stakeholders onsite, including the DfE Clerk of Works, and must manage this relationship with professionalism and clarity.

Proficiency in using Fieldview on tablet devices is essential for daily site management and reporting tasks. Previous experience working within schools—especially coordinating and installing FFE (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment)—would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee finishing trades, ensuring they self-inspect and rectify defects before final inspections

* Carry out comprehensive snagging of internal finishes, documenting defects and managing resolution timelines

* Coordinate the snagging process through to completion, ensuring a consistently high-quality finish

* Act as the client-facing representative on site; liaise directly with the DfE Clerk of Works

* Utilise Fieldview (tablet-based) for inspection recording, tracking, and reporting

* Assist in FFE installation coordination within the school environment (if applicable)

Essential Requirements:

* Demonstrable experience managing internal finishing teams in a construction setting

* Proven track record of snagging internal finishes and seeing corrective actions through to completion

* Client-facing experience, ideally working with DfE representatives or similar oversight bodies

* Competent in Fieldview usage on tablet platforms

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Desirable (But Not Essential)

* Prior experience working on school projects, particularly with FFE installation and coordination

* Familiarity with Department for Education site protocols and expectations
