Research Grants Project Setup Coordinator - Strand, London, WC2R 2LS
About us:
The Research Grants & Contracts team within Kings College London supports the successful delivery of one of the UK's largest and most diverse research portfolios. Our Post-Award service works with researchers, faculties and professional services colleagues to ensure research funding is managed effectively throughout its lifecycle.
As part of an exciting programme of service development, we are strengthening our support at key points in the research award lifecycle, helping research projects move efficiently from award acceptance to project activation, delivery and closure. This role sits within our Post-Award team and will play an important part in improving project setup performance, reducing delays and supporting excellent service for our research community. The role contributes to a wider ambition to move towards a more proactive, risk-based approach to research award management and service improvement
About the role:
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual to join our Post-Award team as a Research Grants Project Setup Coordinator.
This is a varied coordination and administration role focused on the project setup phase of the research award lifecycle. You will help ensure new research awards are activated accurately and efficiently by coordinating information, monitoring progress, maintaining records and working with colleagues across faculties and professional services teams to resolve routine issues that may delay project activation.
You will become a key point of contact for project setup activity, helping to track awards through the setup process, support risk assessment activities, maintain accurate data and produce management information. Working closely with Research Grants Managers, Research Grants Administrators and colleagues across Kings, you will help ensure research projects can start promptly and in compliance with funder and university requirements.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop broad knowledge of research funding and university research administration. We welcome applications from individuals looking to build a career in research management, those seeking to expand existing research administration experience, or experienced professionals looking for a flexible part-time opportunity.
This is a part time post (17.5 per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. This will be operating on a hybrid working basis with a minimum of one day a week in the office.

To be successful in this role, you will be highly organised, detail-oriented and enjoy coordinating activity across multiple stakeholders and priorities. You will be someone who takes pride in maintaining accurate information, following processes and helping others navigate administrative procedures.
