Research Fellow in Behavioural Psychology

About us

We are a multidisciplinary team of researchers part of the Big Repair Project and Plastic Waste Innovation Hub led by Prof. Mark Miodownik. We have been successful in winning funding for a project aimed at tackling the growing e-waste problem. We will carry-out fundamental research to support manufacturers and citizens to adopt the circular economy principle of longer product lifespans by facilitating easier product maintenance and repair.

About the role

We are seeking a researcher to join our team on a part-time basis for circa 12months to carry out research in behaviour and attitudes towards repair of electrical appliances. The researcher will be expected to work with colleagues from the Centre for Behaviour Change to design and conduct a behavioural study, analyse data to identify behaviour change strategies and report on findings.

Hours:18.25 (contract for 12 months)

Salary: £40,241 - £44,480 FTE pro-rata

About you

Candidates are expected to have a degree (2:1 or higher) in behavioural science (e.g. psychology, economics, anthropology, sociology, human geaography). A PhD in behavioural science or equivalent experience should also be demonstrated. The candidate should be able to manage multiple tasks, and have experience of conducting qualitative and quantitative research, applying behavioural science theories and frameworks to research and evaluating interventions to change behaviour.
