Permanent, Full time This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week in the office. You can choose to be based at one of our locations: London (Farringdon), or Chesterfield (Future Walk). Join the Procurement team at the heart of Royal Mail, a £7.8 billion organisation, with a clear mandate to identify opportunities for cost reduction and turn them into tangible, sustainable results. Working across a diverse and complex supplier landscape, you'll use market insight, commercial expertise and close stakeholder collaboration to design and deliver tactical and strategic interventions that protect value and drive efficiency across one of the UK's most recognisable brands. If so, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking a Procurement Manager to join our Corporate Services team, leading a key category in HR Services. This is an exciting opportunity for procurement a professional who enjoy working at pace, challenging existing approaches, and partnering with stakeholders to identify and realise cost-reduction opportunities across complex, high-value spend areas. About the Role Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering category-level sourcing strategies that reduce cost, manage risk and improve value for money. You will lead complex, high-value sourcing activity, applying strong market knowledge and commercial judgement to influence outcomes and support the organisation's wider strategic objectives. You will also:
- Identify and prioritise cost-reduction opportunities and convert them into actionable sourcing and negotiation strategies.
- Develop and deliver compliant sourcing plans, tenders and negotiations within agreed governance and timelines.
- Lead end-to-end tendering for large, strategic contracts, ensuring benefits are delivered and sustained.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand needs, challenge demand and align procurement with organisational priorities.
- Support category strategy development and collaborate across procurement to maximise insight and value.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and generate insights that support value delivery, performance management and risk mitigation.
- Serve as a commercial escalation point, using expert judgement to resolve complex contractual, commercial and supplier issues.
- Own your personal development, support others' growth and model leadership behaviours and company values.
- CIPS-qualified or working towards accreditation.
- Proven experience creating and delivering sourcing strategies that reduce costs and increase value.
- Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence, challenge, and secure buy-in.
- Able to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
- Practical experience in programme and change management, including embedding new processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly with complex contractual and commercial issues.
- Advanced negotiation skills, confident operating at senior levels.
