A high-achieving school in Greenwich is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to lead and develop its SEND provision. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed education professional who is passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs.

About the Role

The successful SENCO will play a key role in coordinating SEND provision across the school, working closely with senior leaders, teachers, support staff, families and external professionals. Greenwich schools place a strong emphasis on inclusive practice and supporting pupils with SEND effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and coordinating SEND provision across the school.

• Managing the SEND register and maintaining accurate records.

• Supporting teachers with strategies to meet individual needs.

• Monitoring pupil progress and the impact of interventions.

• Coordinating EHCP reviews and relevant statutory processes.

• Working closely with parents, carers and external agencies.

• Providing guidance and support to teaching and support staff.

• Contributing to the continued development of inclusive practice.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Previous experience working within SEND provision, ideally as a SENCO.

• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.

• Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.

• Excellent leadership, organisation and communication skills.

• Experience working with EHCPs and external professionals.

• A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.

• Relevant SENCO qualification or willingness to complete required training.
