Teaching Assistant
We are working with an Outstanding secondary school in Enfield who are urgently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student with ASD. This is a long-term role (minimum of one year) and offers an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is looking to make a real impact in a supportive school environment. The case is complex, and while the student is not violent, they can become dysregulated at times. To support effectively, restraint training will be required (training can be arranged). Responsibilities: * Work as a Teaching Assistant providing 1:1 tailored support to a student with ASD. * Assist with the student’s academic, social, and emotional development. * Implement strategies to help regulate behaviour and encourage engagement in lessons. * Collaborate with the SENCo, teachers, and external agencies. * Ensure safeguarding and welfare standards are maintained at all times. Requirements: * Experience as a Teaching Assistant supporting students with ASD or similar needs. * Calm, patient, and resilient approach. * Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people. * Willingness to undertake restraint training (if not already trained). * Strong commitment to inclusion and supporting student wellbeing.
