A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Mechanical Estimator to join a well-established and growing building services contractor. Working closely with an experienced estimating team, you'll receive hands-on training and mentorship, giving you the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge and build a long-term career within the business.

This role would suit someone with 1-2 years' experience in mechanical estimating who is looking to take the next step and join a company that genuinely invests in its people. Following a successful probation period, hybrid working is available with one day per week working from home.

The Role
Assisting with the preparation of mechanical estimates and tender submissions
Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
Supporting senior estimators with cost planning and bid preparation
Attending internal tender review meetings
Assisting with value engineering and cost-saving exercises
Maintaining accurate estimating records and databases
Liaising with project, commercial and pre-construction teams throughout the tender process You'll Also Have
1-2 years' experience within a Mechanical Estimating role
Experience working on mechanical building services or construction projects
A basic understanding of HVAC, pipework, public health and mechanical installations
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software
Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
A full UK driving licence would be advantageous What's On Offer
