Physiotherapy

London

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 7 Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to join a leading NHS acute hospital on a locum basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist inpatient service, delivering high-quality physiotherapy to patients recovering from complex pelvic, colorectal, urological and gynaecological surgery. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in supporting patients through their post-operative recovery, promoting early mobilisation, optimising function and facilitating safe discharge.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage a specialist inpatient caseload, providing expert assessment and rehabilitation for patients following a range of pelvic health procedures.
Work closely with surgeons, nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care and achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
Assess and treat adult inpatients following pelvic, colorectal, urological and gynaecological surgery.
Develop and deliver individualised rehabilitation programmes to optimise recovery and functional independence.
Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction following surgery.
Support enhanced recovery pathways (ERAS) and promote early mobilisation.
Deliver respiratory, mobility and functional rehabilitation where clinically indicated.
Educate patients on pelvic floor rehabilitation, exercise programmes and post-operative recovery.
Contribute to discharge planning and ensure safe transitions of care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and NHS standards.
Participate in clinical audit, service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements:
• Degree in Physiotherapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Significant postgraduate experience within acute inpatient physiotherapy.
• Experience working at Band 6 level or equivalent.
• Specialist experience within pelvic health physiotherapy.
• Experience managing post-operative pelvic, colorectal, urological and/or gynaecological patients.
• Excellent clinical reasoning, assessment and rehabilitation skills.
• Ability to manage a complex inpatient caseload independently.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary team working skills.

Desirable Criteria:
• Membership of the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP) professional network.
• Experience working within specialist surgical wards.
• Knowledge of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathways.
• Experience supervising junior staff or students.
• Participation in clinical audit or service improvement projects.

What We Offer:
• Competitive hourly rates.
• Dedicated recruitment consultant.
• Weekly payroll.
• Flexible locum contracts.
• Opportunities for contract extension.
• Access to a wide range of NHS locum opportunities across the UK.

If you are an experienced Band 6/7 Pelvic Health Physiotherapist with a background in acute inpatient rehabilitation and post-surgical pelvic health, we'd love to hear from you.
