We’re looking for a skilled and dedicated Bench Locksmith to join our expert team at Banham, a name synonymous with security and craftsmanship. Based in one of our showrooms, you’ll play a key role in fabricating and duplicating keys, building and repairing locks, and providing exceptional service to our in-house engineers, trade partners, and customers.
Whether you’re an experienced locksmith or eager to train in Banham’s specialist systems, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills within a respected and long-established security brand.
Who are we?
Celebrating our Centenary, Banham is a family-owned, family-run business that has been providing security solutions since 1926. We operate throughout London and the Home Counties, offering a comprehensive service on all aspects of physical and electronic security. Most important, however, are the people who make up Banham. Our dedicated employees live and breathe collaboration; they inspire and learn from each other while upholding our standards of People, Service and Quality alongside our core values of Family, Pride and Trust . Employees who began their Banham careers as trainees now head our key departments, and we are proud to foster a working environment that encourages staff to stay with us for many years through continual training, internal mobility and development opportunities.

Carry out general bench locksmith work, including pinning up cylinders, assembling locks, and cutting keys by hand and by machine.
Service and repair locks brought into the showroom, providing expert advice on maintenance and care.
Maintain accurate stock records, perform stock checks (every 3 months), and address discrepancies in lock components and assemblies.

Complete and submit all required documentation, including daily logs and health & safety checks.
Keep the work area clean, organised, and compliant with all health and safety standards.

Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive and adaptable attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
High attention to detail and commitment to producing work of the highest quality.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Understanding of and adherence to health and safety procedures.
A natural problem solver with a hands-on, technically minded approach.
Be flexible to support other showroom locations when required.
Working 5 days out of 6 (Mon - Saturday) 8:30am-5:30pm
