Are you comfortable managing the full buying cycle while building long-term supplier partnerships across Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and China?

MacGregor Black is partnering with a high-growth international apparel business on the search for a Senior Womenswear Buyer, based in London .

This role will lead sourcing strategy across womenswear, owning supplier relationships, price negotiation and the end-to-end buying cycle. Working closely with Design, Product Development, Technical, Merchandising and Finance teams, you will ensure product is delivered on time, on cost and aligned with commercial targets.

This is a key role supporting a rapidly expanding womenswear category within a global licensing business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end buying cycle across womenswear categories including tops, dresses, knitwear, outerwear and tailoring.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategy, working directly with factories across Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and China.
• Own cost price architecture across the category, identifying opportunities to improve margin through supplier negotiation, fabric optimisation and sourcing strategy.
• Negotiate cost prices, MOQs, lead times and payment terms to achieve margin and commercial targets.
• Build and manage long-term factory partnerships, driving supplier performance, quality and delivery standards.
• Work closely with Design, Product Development and Technical teams to translate product concepts into commercially viable product.
• Analyse sales performance, market trends and inventory data to inform buy decisions and future range planning.
• Monitor raw material costs, currency fluctuations and supply chain risk to support effective sourcing decisions.
• Conduct regular international factory visits to strengthen supplier relationships and identify cost efficiencies.
• Ensure suppliers meet ethical sourcing, sustainability and compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate forecasting, cost tracking and purchasing documentation.

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in womenswear buying within apparel.
• Proven experience sourcing directly from factories in Asia, particularly Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and China.
• Strong commercial mindset with excellent price negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience owning cost price architecture or cost engineering within a category.
• Good understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims and apparel costing structures.
• Highly analytical with strong Excel and ERP system capability.
• Confident working cross-functionally with design, development, technical and finance teams.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.
• Willingness to travel internationally to supplier factories.
