Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Linux DevOps Engineer to join our high profile client.

Our client is a brand new financial data technology start up. They enable rapid trading transactions to be processed and are innovators in algorithm matching, big data and language processing. They are well known to take intractable problems the trading industry faces, employing highly-parallel algorithms, natural-language parsing and a diverse, cutting-edge technology stack. The company structure is very flat and almost everyone writes code.

They are funded by several major banks.

I am looking for a Linux DevOps Engineer who has started a successful track-record building and running a multi-site, internet-facing service. They have a complex architecture and very high security requirements, so prior experience of this kind of environment is ideal but not required l. I expect someone who keeps on top of the latest technologies (especially DevOps tools and methodologies) and who is prepared to take on the responsibility of keeping services running at all times.

You will be collaborating with a strong development team and systems team.

The Linux DevOps Engineer will be responsible for:

• The provision and management of business-critical Linux computing systems including storage, compute and network components across multiple sites
• In-house infrastructure development and operation in Linux
• Continuous security review and infrastructure hardening
• Build and release infrastructure & automation

• Network administration
• Comfortable working in Agile environments
• Planning and engineering multi-site fail-over solutions
• Happy to get stuck into a complex technology stack (Ruby, Coffeescript, Java, Scala)

As a Linux DevOps Engineer you MUST have: (the below also gives you an idea of stack)

• Linux Ubuntu administration
• Experience with DevOps process’s and culture
• Strong grasp of command line Bash scripting
• Networking TCP/IP
• Coding experience in a dynamic programming language such as Ruby, Coffeescript Python, Javascript
• RDB administration, especially data replication management in MySQL
• Build and deployment experience
• Puppet/Chef/Salt exposure would be a bonus
• VMware exposure would be a bonus
• An appetite for delivering solutions to complex problem

This role suits a senior Linux technologist with an appetite for DevOps and automation. You must be hands on and have excellent experience in the stack but not always in time served. You will also be a techie motivated by technology. In return you will be rewarded seriously financially.
