About the Role

We're looking for a Software DC Installation Engineer. This role will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, and deployment of both hardware and software systems within our data centers. Working alongside our hardware installation teams, you will deploy, configure, and maintain the critical software components that power our GPU cloud infrastructure. You'll ensure optimal software configuration for our AI workloads while maintaining security, reliability, and performance standards.

What You’ll be Doing

• Software deployment and configuration in datacenter environments
• Installing and configuring physical servers, as well as the operating systems, virtualization platforms, and container orchestration systems
• Setting up monitoring tools, management software, and system utilities
• Implementing software automation frameworks and deployment pipeline
• System integration and performance testing
• Ensuring proper integration between hardware and software components
• Troubleshooting software-related issues during installation phases
• Documentation and inventory management
• Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of software configurations
• Updating CMDB tools with software assets and dependencies
• Developing runbooks and standard operating procedures
• Creating deployment scripts to automate software installation processes
• Developing configuration management templates

Key Objectives

• Ensure rapid and reliable deployment of software systems to support Nscale's GPU cloud infrastructure
• Standardize and optimize software installation processes across all datacenter locations
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks to reduce deployment time and human error
• Establish robust security configurations and hardening standards for all deployed systems
• Create comprehensive documentation for all software deployments and configurations
• Collaborate with hardware and network teams to deliver fully integrated solutions
• Continuously improve deployment methodologies and implement industry best practices

• Deployment Efficiency: Complete 100% of software installations within planned timeframes
• Automation Rate: Achieve 80% automation of routine deployment tasks within 6 months
• System Reliability: Zero system failures due to software configuration issues within 30 days post-deployment
• Documentation Quality: Maintain 100% up-to-date documentation for all software deployments
• Script Reusability: Develop reusable deployment scripts that reduce installation time by 40%
• Integration Success: Ensure 100% success rate for first-time system integration tests
