  • Provide support on technical accounting matters, acting as a trusted contact for finance stakeholders and external auditors where required.
  • Support the planning, preparation and delivery of interim and year-end Group statutory reporting requirements.
  • Act as a key contact during audit and review processes, coordinating activities and supporting responses to auditor requests.
  • Review regional reporting submissions and analyse Group consolidated balance sheet accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare selected note disclosures for Group financial statements and supporting schedules for Audit Committee papers.
  • Manage the interim and year-end regional confirmations process and support reporting governance activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of UK statutory accounts, partnering with Financial Services, Company Secretariat and external audit teams.
  • Support month end reporting activities including share schemes, treasury accounting, intercompany reporting and accounting for the Group's principal holding company.
  • Maintain accounting records within SAP and support monthly submissions to the Group consolidation system.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers, accounting policy updates, board meeting packs and other ad hoc reporting deliverables as required.
  • Contribute to wider projects, business support activities and regulatory reporting requirements, including ONS surveys.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience within industry or practice at an assistant manager, manager or equivalent level.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and UK statutory reporting requirements for listed groups.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing statutory financial statements and supporting external audit processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities to deadline.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships across Finance and wider business functions.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders including Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Rewards, Shared Services and regional finance teams.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Group consolidation systems or similar reporting platforms would be advantageous.
  • Retail or consumer-facing industry experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach, with a willingness to support a broad range of reporting and project activities.
