The Role
You’ll play a key role in driving financial insight and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role goes beyond reporting numbers. It’s about understanding the story behind them and helping shape the company’s growth both in the UK and the USA.
In a nutshell , you’ll be responsible for…
- Budgeting & Forecasting : Manage and prepare annual operating budgets, capital budgets, and resource allocation planning. Lead monthly rolling forecasts, scenario planning, and support best/worst/base case analysis.
- Performance Analysis: Deliver variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast), sensitivity analysis, explain drivers of under/over performance, and propose corrective actions to leadership. Provide commercial insights to the wider business teams to ensure alignment around targets and variances.
- Liquidity & Long-Term Planning: Support short- and long-term liquidity planning, ensuring cash flow visibility and banking covenant sustainability. Contribute to multi-year strategic planning (3–5 year plans), including growth initiatives and M&A modelling.
- Decision Support: Provide actionable insights through customer, product, and segment profitability analysis, margin trends, and benchmarking against industry peers.
- Operational & Commercial Insight: Build and maintain dashboards, tracking key financial and operational metrics to support executives and functional leaders.
- Wider business partnering: Partner with marketing, sales and product teams to drive interpret performance, support operational teams in reporting and analytics and assist in decision-making
- Project work and ad hoc Analysis: Work with wider business teams to support data input into operational projects. Respond to analytical requests from the Finance Director and other senior stakeholders to support rapid decision-making.
To succeed , you’ll need…
Experience, skills and capabilities:
- 3–7 years in FP&A, corporate finance, or a similar analytical finance role (industry or advisory).
- Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic financial modelling.
- Exposure to M&A modelling, resource allocation, and/or long-range planning is a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex data into clear insights.
- Advanced Excel / financial modelling skills; experience with BI tools (ideally Looker and Alteryx) and FP&A platforms like Causal, Datarails).
- An understanding of SaaS metrics. Previous SAAS experience preferred.
- Deep commercial awareness and ability to link financial performance with operational drivers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to influence non-financial stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling environment with shifting priorities.
Qualifications:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or equivalent finance qualification
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
