Marketing Analyst
About InvestEngine
InvestEngine is everything the modern investor should need. Unbeatable value, market-leading automation, and built for easy, long-term investing. We’ve built a strong foundation, have over £2.5 billion invested, award-winning service, and a passionate team, now we’re ready to scale.
About the Role
The Marketing Analyst is a strategic partner to our growth team, moving beyond surface level reporting to find the actual business impact of our marketing spend. You will be responsible for moving us from simple vanity metrics like clicks and views to a deep understanding of customer quality and lifetime value.
We are looking for an analyst who thinks critically and communicates in plain English. Your goal is to move InvestEngine away from last click attribution toward a holistic understanding of the customer journey. You will provide the scientific rigor needed to prove whether a campaign truly worked, identifying which channels bring customers who stay longer and invest more.
What You’ll Do
Perform Scientific Campaign Analysis: Produce detailed write ups that evaluate success against original hypotheses, including context like unforeseen market factors.
Track Growth Performance: Own the weekly tracking of the core marketing funnel: sign ups, funded accounts, and cost per funded account.
Evolve Attribution Modeling: Shift the team’s understanding away from last click bias to recognize the value of brand ads, content, and multiple touchpoints.
Automate Performance Reporting: Build automated dashboards that track conversion rates, CPA per channel, and year on year growth trends.
Standardise Data Hygiene: Create and maintain a clear glossary for marketing metrics, ensuring everyone has the same definition for a funded customer.
Enable Team Self Service: Develop customizable Metabase views that allow marketing managers to chop up data by day, week, or month independently.
Drive Experimentation: Support robust A/B testing by building hypotheses, measuring statistical significance, and recommending clear next steps.
What We’re Looking For
Scientific Mindset: You don't just report numbers; you provide a report that thinks critically and translates data into a clear recommendation.
Performance Marketing Expertise: Deep understanding of the marketing funnel and the ability to tie funded accounts back to specific acquisition channels.
Technical Tooling: Experience with Metabase or similar BI platforms, with the ability to integrate siloed data from tools like Amplitude or Customer.io.
Actionable Insight: A focus on finding scalable levers. You avoid useless deliverables in favor of insights that drive AUM growth.
Data Skepticism: You understand the limitations of data and know when to triple check numbers versus when to rely on common sense.
Stakeholder Influence: You can handle situations where data conflicts with intuition by presenting evidence that lands effectively in team channels.
Nice to Have
Experience with Python or R: While not required, the ability to perform more advanced statistical modeling or predictive forecasting would be a significant advantage.
Fintech or Investment Sector Background: Prior experience working within a regulated financial environment or a high growth B2C fintech startup.
How We Work
We’re a lean, fast moving team that values clarity, ownership, and transparency. You won’t just be executing tickets; you’ll shape systems, improve processes, and influence product direction. We expect autonomy, but we also support each other. No bureaucracy, no drama: just respectful collaboration and meaningful work.
What We Offer
Impact from day one: Your recommendations will directly influence marketing spend and channel prioritization.
Room to grow: We’re scaling fast, and there’s plenty of opportunity to take on more responsibility as the marketing function evolves.
Transparent and open culture: From regular team updates to open Slack channels, we keep communication honest and decisions collaborative.
Supportive team: You’ll join a team of motivated people who care about what they build and how they build it.
Remote and flexible: Work from wherever suits you best. We care about outcomes, not time zones.
