Senior software engineer - management
Job Description:
About Rippling
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.
Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @ Rippling.com addresses.
About the role
You would be joining the Spend Management Growth team which plays a pivotal role in redefining the future of corporate spending as we scale from millions to billions of dollars in transactions per month. We simplify the lives of financial admins through our all-in-one platform for corporate cards, expense management, accounting automation, and more.
As a backend-oriented full-stack engineer on the Spend Management Growth team, you'll build innovative features across the product suite to improve the customer experience, drive adoption, and increase revenue. You will lead cross-team initiatives with platform teams to bring new product functionalities across all of Rippling. You will uphold rigorous technical standards within the team and mentor the junior engineers on the team. Since the inception of Spend Management, we've been dedicated to delivering an exceptional product experience.
This role is best suited for an engineer who leans more towards the backend-end but is still comfortable understanding and writing front-end code.
What you will do
- Take ownership of projects, guiding them from initial product requirements through to launch, benefiting all Spend Management customers.
- Maintain a relentless commitment to elevating engineering standards within both the team and the organization as a whole.
- Develop extensible and scalable solutions that expands our product offerings
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers, nurturing their professional growth and success.
- Identify inefficiencies within the team and drive process and system enhancements
What you will need
- Strong product intuition: you care about design and user experience and are quick to identify how these could be improved
- Ownership: no problem is someone else’s, you challenge the status quo and fix problems when you see it, even if it is not your own
- Entrepreneurial mindset: you thrive in unstructured environments and enjoy identifying big problems in addition to solving them.
- Strong CS fundamentals
- 5+ years of professional work experience
- Experience with Python, Django, and React is preferred
