Salary: £85–£105 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate and September Starts Available
About the Role
A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Willesden, North West London is seeking a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood development and enjoys supporting young children during the most important stage of their learning journey.
You will be working with children aged 3–5 years within Nursery or Reception, supporting their development through play-based, child-centred learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework . The school promotes a nurturing and inclusive approach, ensuring that every child feels safe, supported, and confident.
Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in delivering EYFS learning activities
Work with individual children and small groups to support development
Assist with phonics, early numeracy, language development, and creative play
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Support children with personal care where required
Observe, assess, and contribute to children’s learning and development records
Prepare engaging classroom resources and learning areas
Support both indoor and outdoor learning activities
Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction
Build strong and positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
The Ideal Candidate
The successful EYFS TA will be:
Warm, patient, and enthusiastic
Passionate about working with young children
Knowledgeable about early years development and play-based learning
Confident supporting children with different abilities and needs
Reliable, proactive, and able to work well within a team
An effective communicator with children and adults
Essential Requirements
Experience working in an EYFS, nursery, or early years setting
Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Desirable (But Not Essential)
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
Experience supporting children with SEN in EYFS
Paediatric First Aid or Safeguarding training
