Director, Paid Search
Are you excited by complex challenges with the freedom to shape long term growth? Do you enjoy being the trusted expert clients rely on for direction and growth? Are you ready to lead complex eCommerce brands through the next phase of digital growth?
As our new Director, Paid Search, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the s360 UK Paid Search offering. You’ll lead the strategic direction for some of our most important retail partnerships, combining senior-level client leadership with hands-on platform expertise to drive sustainable growth and real commercial impact.
Lead complex retail growth and shape the future of Paid Search
In this role, you’ll act as the architect for our most important retail partnerships, owning their long-term growth while staying close to the platforms and performance that make it happen. To give you a clear picture of where you’ll spend your time, the role is built around four key pillars:
Commercial & Strategic Leadership: Lead Paid Search strategy for 4–5 high-stakes retail brands, ensuring performance aligns with P&L and business goals. Develop our Paid Search offering with the Head of Paid Search by testing new features and betas, and lead commercial discussions on scope, pricing, and growth opportunities. Own the Paid Search narrative in senior client strategy meetings and sales pitches.
Executional Excellence: Co-own portfolio-level performance and commercial output, translating strategy into clear targets and action plans. Stay hands-on with campaign builds, budget pacing, and optimisations for 1–2 clients, and partner with the GMP team on advanced SA360 setups for complex eCommerce accounts.
Client Leadership: Build senior client partnerships focused on long-term growth and innovation. Turn complex technical setups into clear, actionable narratives for QBRs and planning sessions. Collaborate across SEO, Brand, and Paid Social to deliver integrated, full-funnel strategies.
Paid Team Collaboration: Work with the Head of Paid Search to define frameworks, playbooks, and QA processes. Act as a senior technical sparring partner, mentoring Specialists and Senior Specialists, and raising delivery standards, with potential to grow into a Paid Search Team Lead role.
A commercial Paid Search leader
We’re looking for a Director who combines strategic vision with deep Paid Search expertise. You are commercially driven, performance-focused, and comfortable operating at both senior stakeholder level and within the technical detail that drives results. You thrive in fast-paced eCommerce environments and understand how Paid Search fits into broader full-funnel growth strategies.
While we don’t believe in rigid checklists, we’d expect you to bring:
8–11 years of Paid Search experience from agency or in-house environments, with strong exposure to eCommerce and retail.
Proven experience leading complex, high-budget accounts and senior client relationships.
Advanced expertise across platforms such as Google Ads and SA360, with the ability to translate technical setups into commercial impact.
A track record of driving sustained performance growth through strategic roadmaps, testing frameworks, and innovation.
Strong commercial judgement, including experience managing scope, priorities, and client expectations.
A hands-on mindset and the credibility to guide teams while remaining close to execution.
