The successful candidate will ensure the campus is safe, secure, and clean, managing opening and closing procedures, conducting minor reactive maintenance, and tracking safety compliance checks. The Role:

• Managing day-to-day site security, including opening, locking up, and keyholder duties

• Carrying out minor building repairs, reactive maintenance, and basic DIY tasks

• Conducting regular statutory health and safety tests (fire alarms, water testing, emergency lighting)

• Overseeing external contractors and ensuring heating and lighting systems operate efficiently

• Maintaining the general cleanliness, safety, and presentation of the school grounds

Requirements:

Applicants must have:

• Previous school experience working as a caretaker or site assistant within a UK educational setting

• Strong practical skills in building maintenance, plumbing, or basic carpentry

• Good knowledge of health and safety protocols and risk assessment logs

• A proactive, solution-oriented approach and physical capability for site management

• The legal right to work in the UK

Salary:

£25,000 – £29,000 per annum (Inner London Pay Scale)
