Category Manager: Amuseables & Accessories
For a quarter of a century, the Jellycat family have brought joy, wonder and playful fun to people of all ages, in every part of the world. Utterly original and in a class of their own, they are currently among the most loved and collected toys of their kind. How has this gentle tribe endeared themselves to so many? Perhaps it is their whimsical expressions. Or the deliciously soft fabrics. Or the beautiful way in which they sit in your hand. Whatever it is, there is something magical and unmistakeable about each one of them.
Jellycat is seeking an experienced and visionary Category Manager to join their growing product team, which sits within the global marketing team. The Category Manager (Amuseables & Accessories) will be responsible for driving the long-term growth, health, and performance of the Amuseables & Accessories categories. This role owns the category strategy and portfolio management, ensuring that new and existing products deliver commercial success, align with Jellycat’s brand values, and meet consumer and retailer needs. Acting as the link between design, product development, sales, and marketing, the Category Manager shapes the NPD pipeline, manages range lifecycle decisions, and ensures the category remains relevant and competitive globally.
You'll be;
- Owning the product portfolio across the fast-growing Amuseables & Accessories categories, leading strategic planning, market positioning, and product lifecycle management.
- Developing and executing effective market positioning and pricing strategies that ensure competitiveness while maximising profitability and brand integrity and equity.
- Gate-Stage Process Ownership for category-driven projects from ideation through feasibility to production approval.
- Continuously monitoring market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and areas for differentiation.
- Leading the strategic development of Amuseables & Accessories categories, identifying opportunities for expansion and innovation, ensuring alignment with global business goals.
- Leveraging customer data and feedback to refine product strategies and respond to evolving market demands.
- Ensuring all product marketing initiatives align with Jellycat’s brand identity and pillars.
You'll have;
- 5+ years of proven experience in category management within luxury consumer goods. Experience in the fashion industry highly advantageous.
- Experience working with luxury brands, specifically those sold in high-end retail environments. A deep understanding of the expectations and demands of luxury consumers and retailers is essential.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision with operational excellence. Experience in driving both product innovation and market expansion is essential.
- A thorough understanding of market positioning, pricing strategies, and competitive dynamics.
- An experience in market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and customer needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate with global, cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Design, Operations) to drive product success.
- A strong focus on performance metrics, including sales growth, profitability, and market share, with a results-driven approach to product marketing.
- The ability to understand and translate consumer needs into product solutions that align with brand identity and market demands.
- Experience working in global markets, understanding diverse consumer behaviours and preferences across regions.
