Stage Supervisor - Island Studios London
Who we are:
Island Studios is a world-renowned film studio complex that has established itself as a leader in the commercial film industry. With locations in West London, Cape Town, and Johannesburg, Island Studios offers filmmakers and photographers access to some of the most advanced film production facilities in the world.
As a Stage Supervisor at Island Studios, you'll be a key part of our support team, ensuring the smooth operation of our stages and studios. You'll supervise our Stage Hands and serve as a crucial point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met while maintaining our high standards for safety and studio upkeep. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Supervising and delegating tasks to a team of Stage Hands to prepare stages for clients.
- Leading your team by example with excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving.
- Serving as the primary contact for clients and outside contractors, managing deliveries and responding to their needs.
- Monitoring and maintaining stages, including painting cycs, cleaning, and reporting any damage.
- Ensuring stages are always safe and secure, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Operating plant machinery such as forklifts and scissor lifts (training provided).
What You'll Bring to the Role
- Demonstratable experience in a fast-paced customer-facing role, ideally within a creative studio, film/TV production, events, or similar industry.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team in a challenging, high-pressure environment. You're a natural problem-solver with a forward-thinking attitude.
- You'll be a clear, confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, effectively liaising with clients, crew, and other staff.
- You are a hardworking and flexible individual who can handle demanding deadlines and multitask effectively. You are also able to cover rotas and be on call as needed.
- You are aware of potential health and safety breaches and can proactively maintain a safe working environment.
- You have good PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and are comfortable operating or learning to operate various plant machinery. First Aid and Fire Marshal qualifications are a bonus.
This is an exciting opportunity to take your career to the next level in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. If you're ready to lead a fantastic team and play a key role in the success of our operations, we want to hear from you!
