Role: Science Technician – Biology & Chemistry
Location: Bromley, London
Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term

An independent school in Bromley is looking for a Science Technician with particular experience or interest in Biology and Chemistry. The successful candidate will support practical teaching and help maintain a safe, well-organised laboratory environment.
The Role
Prepare Biology practicals: Set up specimens, microscopes, slides and relevant equipment.
Support Chemistry lessons: Prepare appropriate apparatus, solutions and materials.
Assist teachers: Provide technical support during practical sessions.
Maintain equipment: Clean, check and store laboratory apparatus correctly.
Manage resources: Monitor consumables and maintain accurate stock records.
Follow safety procedures: Ensure practical preparation complies with school policies and relevant guidance.
The Candidate
Biology/Chemistry experience: Strong practical understanding of at least one discipline.
Laboratory capable: Comfortable working with standard school laboratory equipment.
Methodical: Takes care with preparation and storage.
Safety aware: Understands appropriate laboratory procedures.
Well organised: Can prepare several lessons within a busy timetable.
Professional: Communicates effectively with teaching staff and students.
