Welbeck Surgery Centre is a state-of-the-art private day surgery facility located in central London, close to the Harley Street medical area. The centre offers a modern, patient-focused approach to day surgery, supported by leading consultants across a wide range of specialities.
The Surgery Centre comprises three laminar flow operating theatres, twelve ensuite patient pods, and three step-up pods. It provides surgical services across orthopaedics, general surgery, colorectal, endoscopy, gynaecology, ENT, cardiac, respiratory, urology, OMFS, pain management, and other specialties.
The centre is part of an ambitious and growing organisation, with future plans for expansion both within the UK and internationally, offering excellent opportunities for professional development.
About the role
As a Housekeeper at Welbeck Surgery Centre, you will play an essential role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and clinical teams. Supporting the day-to-day running of the centre, you will ensure all clinical and non-clinical areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational readiness. Working closely with nursing staff and external cleaning providers, you will help deliver an exceptional patient experience while supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the centre.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all clinical and non-clinical areas
Stock and replenish linen and scrubs throughout the centre on a daily basis
Coordinate linen and scrub orders to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
Prepare and clean patient pods promptly following discharge to ensure operational readiness
Monitor toilet and patient facilities, escalating cleaning or maintenance concerns where required
Dust, sanitise, and maintain patient trolleys, pods, and surrounding equipment
Support cleaning audits, RADAR checks, and service quality inspections
Provide general housekeeping support to nursing staff to maintain a safe and efficient environment

About you
You are a reliable and proactive individual with a strong eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards. You thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment and take pride in ensuring spaces are clean, organised, and fully prepared for patients and staff. A strong team player with excellent communication skills, you are flexible in your approach and confident managing a variety of housekeeping and support duties. Experience within a healthcare or clinical setting and an understanding of infection prevention practices would be advantageous.
