The Opportunity As Senior Commercial Manager - Freight Forwarding, you will drive new business growth across international freight forwarding and multi modal logistics solutions. With a focus on air, ocean and road freight, you will identify new opportunities, develop strategic trade lanes and secure high-value customer contracts. Key Responsibilities New Business Acquisition: Proactively identify, target and secure new customers across the UK market. Revenue & Profit Growth: Deliver against ambitious sales, revenue and gross profit targets. Strategic Sales: Build relationships with senior decision-makers and convert opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships. Multi modal Solutions: Sell tailored freight forwarding solutions across air, ocean, road and wider logistics services. Market Development: Identify emerging opportunities, target sectors and strategic international trade lanes. Sales Execution: Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through to negotiation and contract award. Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a strong pipeline with accurate forecasting and a clear focus on conversion. Internal Collaboration: Work closely with pricing, operations and international teams to deliver competitive customer solutions. About You We are seeking an experienced freight forwarding sales professional who can demonstrate a consistent track record of winning new business and delivering profitable growth. The ideal candidate will have: Significant experience in business development or senior commercial sales within freight forwarding. A proven track record of winning substantial new business and consistently achieving sales targets. A genuine hunter mentality, with the drive, resilience and confidence to generate opportunities independently. Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding, particularly air and ocean freight. An established industry network and the ability to engage senior logistics and supply chain decision-makers. Experience managing complex sales cycles, tenders and commercial negotiations. Strong commercial acumen, with a clear understanding of revenue, gross profit and margins.
